India Tax Compliance Calendar: Key August 2026 Due Dates for Businesses

August 2026 is one of the busiest compliance months for businesses in India. Employers, GST-registered taxpayers, professionals, and non-audit businesses have several important statutory deadlines to meet. Timely compliance helps avoid interest, late fees, penalties, and unnecessary disruptions.

GSTR-1 (Monthly) – Due 11 August 2026

Regular GST taxpayers must file GSTR-1 for July 2026.

This return contains details of outward supplies and enables customers to claim eligible Input Tax Credit (ITC). Timely filing ensures smooth GST compliance.

GSTR-1 Invoice Furnishing Facility (IFF) – Due 13 August 2026

Taxpayers registered under the QRMP Scheme may optionally upload July 2026 invoices through the Invoice Furnishing Facility (IFF).

Using IFF enables customers to claim ITC without waiting for the quarterly GSTR-1 filing.

Issue of TDS Certificates (Form 131) – Due 15 August 2026

Tax deductors must issue Form 131 for non-salary TDS deducted during the April–June 2026 quarter.

Issuing the certificate on time allows deductees to claim TDS credit while filing their Income Tax Returns.

PF & ESI Contributions – Due 15 August 2026

Employers covered under Provident Fund (PF) and Employees' State Insurance (ESI) laws must deposit July 2026 contributions and complete related statutory compliances.

Timely payment helps avoid regulatory consequences.

GSTR-3B – Due 20 August 2026

Regular GST taxpayers must file GSTR-3B for July 2026.

Delayed filing may result in late fees, interest, and restrictions on future GST compliance.

TDS Payment through Form 141 – Due 30 August 2026

Specified TDS payments relating to July 2026 transactions must be reported and paid through Form 141.

This applies to specified transactions including immovable property purchases, certain rent payments, payments by specified individuals/HUFs to contractors or professionals, and virtual digital asset transactions.

ITR-3 & ITR-4 Filing – Due 31 August 2026

Eligible non-audit businesses, professionals, firms, LLPs, HUFs, and other eligible taxpayers must file ITR-3 or ITR-4 for FY 2025–26 (AY 2026–27) by 31 August 2026.

Businesses should complete bookkeeping, reconciliations, and tax computations well before the deadline to avoid last-minute issues.

Conclusion

August 2026 includes several important GST, payroll, TDS, and Income Tax compliances. Businesses should maintain a compliance calendar and complete all filings on time to avoid interest, penalties, and unnecessary compliance risks.
